Martin Luther King, Jr.

Born on January 15, 1929. Michael Luther King Jr., later renamed Martin was born to schoolteacher Alberta King and Baptist minister Michael Luther King. Boyhood in Sweet Auburn leaders both past and present.

Perhaps the most influential civil rights leaders in North America, few have had as much impact upon the American consciousness as the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will always remember him for his contibutions and influential speeches which have become etched into North American history. Some of his better known speeches are
"I have a dream," 1963 , "Let freedom ring," 1963 and "Promised land,"1968.
